Day One

Hello! The National Stationery Show is such a whirlwind, I don't think I've ever smiled so much in one day before or been so impressed by so many acts of creativity all in one place. Yesterday was a successful first-ever opening day for me. I met so many enthusiastic people and even wrote orders! The day began with torrential rain, but we charged forth despite the weather to go sell some paper, all bright eyed, bush tailed and color coordinated.... to discover that despite our speculations and fretting, the booth was still standing and in splendid condition if I may say so. (Please refer to the before picture to be further impressed) After arranging flowers and my sample products and smiling through an elaborate photo shoot there was a moment of are they coming? are they coming? while everyone stood poised and ready for the buyers to come shop. While waiting I met this friendly man/giant book and considered asking my helpers to wear similar outfits and go trolling the aisles looking for new business... but alas when my amazing friends arrived I decided to opt for allowing my them not to dress as giant books but instead as cute people... (although, now that I reconsider, if I'd made them walk around wearing giant blow ups of my cards, they probably would have loved that) Aren't they delightful? I couldn't have done it without them and their energy. I really do feel so lucky today to have so many supportive people in my life. They've helped my dream come true for this show! What an exhilarating day! All in all a fabulous start. Can't wait to see what today holds. Off to the convention center, wish me luck!
