gatsby fever

Gatsby fever is at an all time high with the movie set to come out this week. Not that you need me to tell you that. It's everywhere - from runways to the today show segments to every blog ever created.  What is it about the Gatsby theme that is so appealing? The fashion is so distinctive, with its restrained and modern glamour. But beyond the drop waists and headbands, I never really understood the glorification of the story. Maybe I need to reread it without a term paper waiting at the end of it like the last time I read it in high school!
